It's a Blooming Wonder-field Break 2026
Making the most of our location, this tour offers the chance to kick back & relax at the wonderful Bloomfield House, whilst still seeing the best of the area. We start with a leisurely first day in Athlone and our hotel, before ramping up the activities with a distillery visit, cruise and a visit to Strokestown Park House & Gardens. Our final afternoon is back at our hotel, the perfect end to our tour.

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Athlone, Lunch & Leisure Time at Bloomfield House
We spend this morning in Athlone, a pretty town perched on the banks of the Shannon. We have the chance to explore the medieval castle, with its lovely views or perhaps wander the twisting lanes through the heart of the town. We return to our hotel for a light lunch, before having the afternoon to make the most of this fabulous 4 star hotel.
Day 3 Shed Distillery & Carrick-on-Shannon Cruise
This morning we travel to Drumshanbo to visit The Shed Distillery. We learn more about this authentic distillery as we are treated to a guided tour and tastings of whiskey and gin. We have free time in the bustling town of Carrick-on-Shannon for lunch before our relaxing 1-hour cruise on the River Shannon, including tea/coffee and scones. On-board we enjoy entertainment and guided commentary.
Day 4 Strokestown Park House & Gardens
Today we discover Strokestown Park where we take a guided tour of this stunning Georgian Palladian Mansion. The National Famine Museum is also within the grounds, and we have the chance to learn the history of the Great Irish Famine and the devasting impact in Irish history. There will be time for a bite to eat before we return to our hotel.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
